In today’s fast-paced world, people are increasingly looking for convenient and healthy ways to manage their meals. Our goal was to design a meal prep app that simplifies the process of planning, shopping, and cooking meals while promoting healthy eating habits. We utilized research findings to inform our design decisions.

Our goal was to design a meal prep app that simplifies the process of planning, shopping, and cooking meals while promoting healthy eating habits. We utilized research findings to inform our design decisions.
Approach
Our approach to designing the app began with thorough user research, where we gathered insights into users' needs, preferences, and pain points. With a focus on usability and innovation, we brainstormed features and functionalities to address these insights, creating a seamless user experience. We meticulously crafted the app's architecture, wireframes, and visual design, ensuring every element was intuitive and visually engaging. Our goal was to deliver a solution that simplifies meal planning, inspires culinary creativity, and ultimately makes the process of preparing meals easier for users.

In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs, preferences, and pain points of our target audience, we used a few research methods that allowed us to collect both qualitative and quantitative data.

Research Insights
Diverse Dietary Preferences: Participants desire to have a feature that takes into account their preferences, schedule, and dietary needs to create efficient and diverse meal plans.
Meal Planning & Convenience: All participants expressed a preference for convenient cooking methods and meal planning that save time and effort.
Food Wastage Concerns: Each participant had some level of concern about food wastage, either due to unused ingredients or leftovers.

Personalized Meal Plans: Allow users to input their dietary preferences, allergies, and cooking skill level to receive personalized meal plans tailored to their needs.
Recipe Suggestions: Offer a variety of recipes categorized by dietary requirements and cuisine preferences, with the option to save favorites for future reference.
Generate Your Own Meal Plans: Automatically generate meal plans using AI based on selected dates, Type of meal and ingredients.
Cooking Instructions: Provide step-by-step cooking instructions and video tutorials to guide users through meal preparation.

Using FigJam, we created a detailed information architecture to map out the app’s structure and navigation. We organized content logically, ensuring that users could easily find what they need. The architecture included main sections such as Personalised Home Page, Meal Plans, Shopping List, Profile, and Settings.
